How this all started….
We created the best heated and insulated tortoise barn the world had ever seen called The Zinnia XXL. For over 5 years we built and designed this factory quality enclosure by hand and then personally delivered them across the US to hundreds of Happy Tortoises owners.
The problem is, due to the cost to produce the Zinnia we we’re limited to the amount of Tortoises we could help not freeze to death in the cold winter season. This is how the My Shell-Ter and the Built-By-You Project was born.
We have spent years figuring out the Do’s and Dont’s to building the perfect Tortoise Barns. Now we have designed a simplified system to teach you to build your own perfect Insulated Tortoise Barns, and guess what, we’ll support you step-by-step through the entire build when you purchase your own My Shell-Ter Package and join the Built-By-You network.

8' Series: 8'L × 4'W × 2'H with door size of 40"L × 18"H Ramp Style Barn door or Swing Out Saloon Style. - This is for your BIG babies or LARGE creeps! This should be the minimum size for a Sulcata that is old enough to free roam and graze. Perfect for adult leopards too!
